Aaaack!  It's November and I have not done any holiday knitting.  Good thing all my peeps liked those micro minimochi....cuz that's what most of them will get.  LOL

In the interim

I broke both my wrists.  The first thought when I lifted my head and felt the searing pain was, "I'll never be able to knit again."

Needless to say, the ensuing 8 weeks were demoralizing, upsetting, all in all the most horrible thing ever!

5 weeks into the process, though, my doctor said I could knit.  Could I?  One little row at a time and the tops of my hands would squeal in pain.  But then it was two rows and then three.  While both my hands were in casts, I made a heart shaped wash cloth.  It took me 3 weeks to finish!  But finish I did.

Now, that I am fairly healed....I cannot get my knit on.  I'm stymied at every turn.  Every project I pick up is fraught with problems.  Wrong yarn for chosen project.  Wrong pattern for chosen yarn.  Pattern going along swimmingly, then huge error that are only froggable.  ERRG!

I hope to get over this hump soon....because I have such a huge stash I can't imagine not knitting it all!  However, the hugh stash poses yet another problem. SOOO hugh that it is overwhelming. I look at it and I just want to run away.

Crazy Ass Problems

So I started out with a clean and loving heart wanting to give a knitted purse to my friend for her wedding day.  Well, that damned purse has nearly driven me crazy.  It/I was plagued with the, "I can't knit for S" and the, "can you count?" and the, "can you read?" blues.  Every time I touched that thing it was a mess.  I finally stepped away.  It has come to this:  I bought the yarn, I bought the silk, I bought the ribbon, so I AM giving her a gift.  Did I knit it, no.  My friend and master knitter JL, stepped in to save me.

In the interim, I did finish a, "One Row Lace Scarf" and have begun an "Irish Hiking Scarf,"  both of which have gone on without a hitch.

What do you think caused the purse mess???  I think it's because it was knit flat and I would have preferred it to have been knitted in the round.  That was the first strike against it.

I want to win

but unlike Charlie Sheen, I never do.  Someone has a contest and guess what, it's too much work.  So, I will not win.  NOT WINNING!!

Retirement.....

I took an extra day off for this holiday weekend and really, really liked the "at home" lifestyle.  I need to retire and work part time.  That way, I'll have the time to bust through my stash!

First Sweater Ever!!

Been knitting for a year.  Have made many projects.  Have worked my way from size 11 and 15 needles to working with 4's and 5's.  So now am attempting my very first sweaer.  I am almost finished with the back.  And soon will start the two front ends. This is the easy part. In fact its been a bit tedious...all that stockinette stitching. The fronts will be more challenging, since there is a lacy bit.  However,   I am not looking forard to sewing the pieces together, but "hey, it's all a learning experience," she said, aprehensively.
